NorthPaws release 2021 schedule

KAMLOOP —-The Kamloops NorthPaws will open West Coast League play on June 4, 2021 on the road at Yakima Valley. Norbrock Stadium will host its first West Coast League game with the NorthPaws home opener on June 8 in a showdown of Canadian expansion teams against the visiting Edmonton Riverhawks. The 2021 West Coast League schedule was released Thursday. The NorthPaws schedule features 54 regular season games from June through mid-August, including 27 home games. The season is broken down into 18 three-game series, nine home and nine away. “Today is an exciting step in the development of NorthPaws baseball. Games like home opener and Canada Day are the first ones we have circled on our calendar. We’re highly anticipating a fun season and seeing all the Canadian teams come to Norbrock Stadium is great,” said co-owner Jon Pankuch. Schedule highlights include: •

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the schedule is subject to approval from local health authorities. While the NorthPaws are committed to have a safe and fun experience with fans in attendance, determinations about specific gameday details will be made at a later date in co-ordination with health authorities. “While there are uncertainties today, we’re very optimistic and excited about playing baseball next summer,” Pankuch said. “However the circumstances unfold in the coming months, we’re committed to ensuring the safety of our fans, players, staff and volunteers next summer.” The Kamloops NorthPaws are an expansion West Coast League franchise bringing the highest calibre baseball Canada’s Tournament Capital has ever seen. The West Coast League, founded in 2005, has 15 teams across Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta featuring some of the top collegiate players during a 54-game summer season.
