Kamloops ICBC location to move to appointment-only visits

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops is one of five ICBC driver licensing locations across B.C. that will pilot an appointment-only visit system.

The change means there will be no more lining up for service, decreasing the number of people inside licensing offices and making it easier for staff and customers to maintain physical distance.

In a news release, the Crown corporation says the system will begin next Monday (Nov. 23). In addition to the Kamloops licensing centre on Concordia Way, centres in Burnaby, Victoria, Richmond and Surrey will also test the new method.

Appointments can be made by visiting a booking website or calling 1 (800) 950-1498.

Those unable to book an appointment can still visit the Kamloops licensing centre between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Monday to Friday. ICBC says the unscheduled visits are in place to help customers transition to the appointment-only model.
