KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Storm opened the 54th KIJHL season last night with a 3-2 overtime win over the Chase Heat.

Lex Friesen and Peyton Kelly both scored for the Storm in the third period, while Zakery Anderson shot the winning goal in overtime.

Chase will now play their home opener tonight (Nov. 14) against the North Okanagan Knights, while the Storm take on the Knights tomorrow.

Due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, no fans are allowed at these games. KIJHL teams have been placed into one of five cohorts to play within. This first phase of scheduling runs for six weeks until December 19, and will see the teams play 12 games.
