KAMLOOPS — A lynx that has been recovering at the BC Wildlife Park is expected to be returned to the wild within the next week.

A male lynx was brought in to the Fawcett Family Wildlife Health Centre at the end of October after it was spotted walking the streets of the North Shore in Kamloops.

Conservation officers noted the lynx was acting unusual and brought it to the Wildlife Park for treatment.

He was placed on antibiotics for an apparent infection in his abdomen and a stick was removed from behind his eye.

“As far as we can tell everything is looking good,” said Animal Care Manager Tracy Reynolds, “we’re just going to give him a few more groceries before he heads out, a little bit more weight on him, but I think he’ll be heading out here very shortly.”
