KAMLOOPS — McDonald’s Canada says an employee at the Kamloops Walmart location tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, McDonald’s says the employee informed the company of the positive test Sunday (Nov. 8). As a result, management shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization.

The restaurant re-opened Monday morning.

McDonald’s says the affected employee’s last shift at the restaurant was last Thursday (Nov. 5) from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The company has asked all employees who were in close contact with the individual to self-isolate “until further information is available.”

Any customers who visited the restaurant last Thursday are asked to refer to the BC Centre for Disease Control website for further directions.
