KAMLOOPS — Four people are in custody after a police pursuit through Kamloops Sunday (Nov. 8).

According to a Kamloops RCMP news release, it began with a report of a shot fired at a home in Knutsford. Police say the complainant told them he heard one shot before seeing a red Kia speeding away.

In addition, the caller gave the RCMP a license plate number that belonged to a stolen red Kia Soul.

Responding officers spotted the vehicle on Hugh Allan Drive. The driver would not stop for RCMP.

The next time the Soul was found, it was on Hillside Drive, where it evaded police to northbound Summit Drive. At the bottom of Summit, RCMP used a spike belt that deflated two of the Kia’s tires.

Investigators tracked the vehicle to the north end of the Red Bridge on the Tk’emlups reserve. Four suspects fled on foot; two of them were arrested quickly while the other two were arrested with the help of the RCMP service dog.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
