QUESNEL, B.C. — Two people were arrested after failing to stop for Mounties, and driving dangerously.

Quesnel RCMP say that on November 4 at around 8:40 a.m. they spotted a silver Ford Fusion with no license plate attached in the are of Bouchie St. RCMP tried to signal the driver to stop, however, the vehicle sped off and swerved into the lane of oncoming traffic. Mounties did not pursue to ensure the safety of the public.

Fifteen minutes later, another officer spotted the vehicle driving on Pinnacles Rd. A traffic stop was once again attempted, and once again the driver fled. The vehicle then proceeded to run over a deployed spike belt and deflated two of its tires.

The driver of the vehicle pulled over shortly after and both occupants were taken into custody.
