Tobiano named Canada’s best golf course in 2020

KAMLOOPS — A huge feather in the cap for the Tobiano Golf Course west of Kamloops.

The World Golf Awards were announced today and Tobiano has been named Canada’s best golf course in 2020.

The World Golf Awards celebrate excellence in golf tourism, world class courses and golf destinations.

The voting process is by professionals working with the golf and tourism industry and by public golf course consumers.

Designed by Canadian golf architect Thomas McBroom, Tobiano general manager Terry Smith says the course had an outstanding year in 2020, with about 24,000 rounds of golf played.

Tobiano has attracted several PGA players to practice their game in between tournaments — including Roger Sloan.

Luis Oosthuizen has played the course several times over the years, including the week before winning the British Open in 2010.
