Delays expected as road work wraps up on East Shuswap Road

KAMLOOPS — Repair work will wrap up soon along East Shuswap Road on the Tk’emlups reserve, after several sections experienced erosion this summer.
According to a Facebook post from Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, bank insulation work will begin this week, along with building up the temporary roadway and removing the remaining asphalt.
Next week (week of Nov. 2), the Ministry of Transportation will begin paving and the site will be cleaned up.
Tk’emlups notes that local traffic will be impacted during this work and delays are expected. Flaggers will maintain traffic flow throughout the project, and will maintain morning and afternoon commutes for residents heading to work and school.
