KAMLOOPS — Struggles are continuing for the Kamloops Airport. The massive drop in passenger levels continued over the summer months.
Airport figure released Thursday morning (Oct. 22) reveal passenger level decreases of more than 80 per cent from the same months in 2019. Just 4,265 passengers travelled through the airport last month compared to 26,162 in September 2019.
Despite the figures, the airport says passenger traffic is slowly recovering from the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The airport says it is continuing to monitor the health of passengers who travel through the airport. Enhanced disinfecting practices are also continuing.
