Williams Lake man’s gunshot wound believed to be accidental, self-inflicted

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP in Williams Lake say a gunshot wound victim who turned up in hospital Monday (Oct. 19) appears to have accidentally shot himself.

According to a news release, officers were called to Cariboo Memorial Hospital for a 34-year-old man who had come in with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators interviewed witnesses and did a scene examination at a home in the 600-block of Winger Road, where they believe the incident happened.

The investigation led police to conclude that the wound was likely self-inflicted and accidental.
