Thirteen new COVID-19 cases turn up in Interior Health, 167 province-wide

VICTORIA — Provincial health officials are reporting 167 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday (Oct. 20), including an alarming 13 new cases in Interior Health.

The new cases bring B.C.’s total to 11,854 cases since the pandemic was declared, spread through B.C. as follows:

  • 4,175 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 29)
  • 6,366 — Fraser Health (up by 122)
  • 244 — Island Health (up by 1)
  • 624 — Interior Health (up by 13)
  • 357 — Northern Health (up by 2)
  • 88 — Reside outside of Canada (unchanged)

In a news release, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says there are 1,688 active cases of the virus, including 69 people who are in hospital and 18 in intensive care.
