Shuswap woman wins more than $750,000 playing online ‘Wheel of Fortune’

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A Shuswap woman turned an 80-cent spin on a PlayNow.com game into more than $750,000.

According to a B.C. Lottery Corporation news release, Baillie Bridle was about to finish playing ‘Wheel of Fortune’ on the gaming website recently when she decided on one more spin.

That paid off with a jackpot of $762,395.26.

“I can’t even begin to wrap my head around it – it’s so shocking, so surreal,” Bridle said in the release. “When I found out just how much I won, I was just in disbelief. I originally wanted to make it a surprise for my husband, but I just had to tell him right away.”

She says the big jackpot will allow her family to live more comfortably, but they won’t be moving from their Salmon Arm home, though they may buy one luxury item — a boat.
