KAMLOOPS — Another group of protestors was arrested allegedly blocking work on the Trans Mountain (TMX) pipeline expansion project on the weekend.

According to Southeast District RCMP, Mounties were called to a TMX worksite near Airport Road early Saturday morning (Oct. 17). Members from the RCMP’s Community-Industry Response Group, Division Liaison Team, Southeast District TAC Team responded, along with members from the local detachment.

Though officers read the demonstrators a B.C. Supreme Court injunction pertaining to site operations, four refused to leave and were arrested.

A news release issued by an Indigenous group opposing the project identified one of those arrested as Miranda Dick.
