Ottawa Senators sign former Blazer Balcers for one year

KAMLOOPS — Former Kamloops Blazers forward Rudolfs Balcers has signed a one year, two way contract with the Ottawa Senators.

If he plays in the NHL the deal will pay $735,000 — $70,000 if he plays in the American League

The 23-year old from Latvia has 6 goals and 17 points in 51 career NHL games.

Balcers was limited to 15 games in the NHL last season after suffering a medial collateral ligament injury in the pre-season.

With the Senators he has one goal and two assists, and put up 36 points, including 16 goals in 33 games in the American League.
