First day of advance voting in B.C. election draws 2,800 ballots in Kamloops ridings

VICTORIA — About 2,800 people in the Kamloops area took advantage of the first day of advance voting in the provincial election Thursday (Oct. 15).
According to numbers released today by Elections BC, the total number of advanced votes cast Thursday in Kamloops-North Thompson, where five polling stations were open, was 1,822.
In Kamloops-South Thompson, where only one polling station was open, 986 people turned up to vote. Two more voting places opened in Kamloops-South Thompson Friday.
