100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP in 100 Mile House say there have been some developments in the case of counterfeit American bills being used in local stores.

After releasing information about a man using counterfeit bills at the local Tim Horton’s earlier this week, the man came forward to RCMP Thursday (Oct. 15).

Mounties say they knew who the man was all along, but put his identity out in order to generate more tips and information about the incident.

That happened, and now RCMP are looking for another individual.

The woman pictured above is suspected of using a counterfeit U.S. $50 bill at the FreshCo grocery store over the holiday weekend.

Anyone who knows who this woman is should call 100 Mile House RCMP at (250) 395-2456 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477, citing file numbers 2020-3611 or 2020-3633.

The man who used the counterfeit money at Tim Horton’s, meantime, has apologized and repaid the restaurant.

RCMP say they are still trying to determine the “local source” of the fake U.S. currency.
