Last Friday (Oct. 9), electronic devices were stolen from St. Ann’s Academy. Saturday, the 10th, police arrested 53-year old Richard John Burton of Ontario. They executed a search warrant at Burton’s residence at the Star Lodge on West Columbia. Police found a number of items from the St. Ann’s breakin, along with other evidence.
Sergeant Brandon Buliziuk says police believe Burton’s arrest will have a positive impact in the overall reduction of property crime in the city. He says it’s a good reminder for people to record things like serial numbers which help link property back to owners.
