KAMLOOPS — Trans Mountain has told the City of Kamloops it knows its activities are having a big impact on Kenna Cartwright Park users right now.

In an update at Kamloops council Tuesday (Oct. 6), spokesperson Kate Stebbings says the company will kick in $200,000 as compensation for impacts to the park.

“This is out of our awareness and understanding that there are park impacts to use and to the land base in that area,” Stebbings said. “The money’s provided to the City and I understand there will be an announcement made on how those funds will be used in the coming months.”

Trans Mountain has contractors working at several locations in Kamloops as it undertakes a massive expansion project.
