Anna Thomas acclaimed as BC NDP Candidate in Kamloops-South Thompson riding
KAMLOOPS — The NDP in the Kamloops-South Thompson Riding has acclaimed its candidate for the upcoming provincial election.
Anna Thomas is originally from the Lytton First Nation but grew up in Tk’emlups the Secwepemc territory. Thomas is a past president of the BC Native Women’s Association and has also served on the board of the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society. She is an advocate for social justice and says she plans to connect with voters on a personal level during the upcoming campaign.
“I’m an advocate. I get out and do the work that needs to be done,” Thomas told supporters and media gathered at Prince Charles Park for the announcement Thursday morning (Oct. 1). “I’m not going to leave anybody behind. Everybody is important, everybody’s voice needs to be heard. I am that person for the NDP Kamloops-South Thompson.”
