MERRITT, B.C. — Mounties in Merritt had to apply a tourniquet to a profusely-bleeding break-in suspect last week.

According to a news release, the incident happened Friday (Sept. 25) at a home on Belshaw Street.

Officers responding to a mischief report found a smashed-out window and a man who had a serious wound that was bleeding.

The responding officers decided to apply a tourniquet and, with the ambulance delayed in arriving, took the man to the emergency room in their police vehicle.
