PHOTOS: RCMP look for suspect in Sorrento gas station smash-and-grab

SORRENTO, B.C. — Police would like your help identifying a suspect in a Shuswap break-and-enter.

According to Chase RCMP, the incident took place at the Petro Canada service station in Sorrento on Sept. 11.

At about 11:30 p.m., the station’s alarm company reported broken front door glass and several motion alarms. When officers arrived, they found there had been a break-in and items had been taken, primarily cigarettes.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, and showed he had come prepared for the crime with tools and a plastic bin to take away his haul.

  • White
  • Thing-to-medium build
  • Long, light-coloured hair
  • Wearing a Bass Pro Shop cap, an orange-and-grey striped sweater, black pants, running shoes and a red rope belt

Police say a dark-coloured, circa 1998 Ford F150 pickup truck with an extended cab was seen in the area at the time.
