British Columbia’s COVID-19 case count up by 98

KAMLOOPS — The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in B.C. has risen by 98 today (Sept. 25).

According to a release from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Deputy Minister of Health Stephen Brown, there are now 1,349 active cases of the virus throughout the province.

There are currently 3,533 people under active public health monitoring as a result of exposure to a known case. 7,036 people have recovered.

Today’s data brings the provincial total to 8,641 cases since the pandemic began in B.C., spread through the province as follows:

  • 3,127 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 33)
  • 4,412 — Fraser Health (up by 51)
  • 204 — Island Health (up by 1)
  • 522 — Interior Health (up by 2)
  • 289 — Northern Health (up by 11)
  • 87 — Reside outside of Canada (unchanged)

One new death has been reported, bringing the death toll to 230.

There are 62 people in hospital, including 19 in intensive care.
