IHA notifies public of potential COVID-19 exposure at Coldwater Hotel pub

Sep 23, 2020 | 5:05 PM

MERRITT — Interior Health is warning residents who visited a certain Merritt area pub last Saturday (Sept. 19) that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.

IH states that anyone who was in the pub inside the Coldwater Hotel between 9 and 10 p.m Saturday may have been exposed to the virus. Public health is asking people who were at the pub during this time period to self-monitor, and get tested if they noticed any COVID-19 symptoms.

Contact tracing is underway, and Interior Health says they are reaching out directly to people who have been exposed.

Those looking for a test should call their primary care provider, or the closest Interior Health community testing and assessment centre.

Testing is recommended for anyone experiencing:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Loss of sense of taste or smell
  • Other milder symptoms may include: runny nose, fatigue, body aches (muscles and joints aching), diarrhea, headache, sore throat, vomiting and red eyes.
