One in custody after tense police incident near Adams Lake

ADAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP say a tense police situation that unfolded in the area of Adams Lake Friday (Sept. 18) has come to an end.

According to B.C. RCMP E-Division spokesman Cpl. Chris Manseau, Chase RCMP were called to the area of Holding Road early Friday morning.

Upon arrival, officers decided to call in the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) due to threats to officer and public safety.

Manseau would not go into details about the nature of the incident, but says one person has now been arrested and there is no threat to public safety.

While the incident is over, Manseau says officers will remain in the area as they conduct their investigation.
