Province reports daily record 165 new COVID-19 cases; just four in Interior Health
VICTORIA — B.C. has set a dubious new daily record for its COVID-19 case count, with Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reporting 165 new cases Thursday (Sept. 17), including two that are epidemiologically linked to known cases.
The Thursday cases include four within Interior Health. In total, B.C. has seen 7,663 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, spread through B.C. as follows:
- 2,714 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 54)
- 3,937 — Fraser Health (up by 102)
- 196 — Island Health (up by 1)
- 489 — Interior Health (up by 4)
- 241 — Northern Health (up by 4)
- 86 — Reside outside of Canada (up by 1)
There are now 1,705 active cases in the province, including 57 patients in hospital and 22 in critical or intensive care.
