Former Lower Nicola chief Sumexheltza to carry NDP banner in Fraser-Nicola

MERRITT, B.C. — A former chief of the Lower Nicola Indian Band will represent the NDP in Fraser-Nicola in the next provincial vote.
The governing party issued a news release Thursday (Sept. 10) confirming Aaron Sumexheltza will carry the party’s banner.
Sumexheltza sought the NDP nomination in Fraser-Nicola ahead of the 2017 election but was bested by former MLA Harry Lali.
The former chief and lawyer is now a councillor for the Lower Nicola band.
