KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for nearly all of Southern B.C. this week because of expected heat.

The forecasting service says an upper ridge of high pressure will bring warm air into the province from the United States.

That will result in daytime high temperatures from five to 10 degrees warmer than seasonal norms, especially on Wednesday (Sept. 9) and Thursday.

Overnight lows will also be warmer than usual for early September.
