LYTTON, B.C. — While marijuana use is now legal in Canada, growing 5,000 plants on the side of a mountain remains illegal.

That’s the message from Lytton RCMP, who took down just such a grow operation last week.

According to Southeast District RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, officers conducting aerial operations in the Lytton area spotted the illegal cannabis grow on Friday (Aug. 28).

A team returned the next day to dismantle the farm, flying in and out of the remote location on the RCMP helicopter.
