Cariboo Regional District to add one more accessible trail mid-September

Sep 3, 2020 | 5:00 AM

WILLIAMS LAKE—With one more additional accessible trail set to open in the Cariboo in mid-September the Cariboo Regional District’s (CRD) accessible trail network will now feature 28 accessible trail locations.

Two trails were unveiled last week at Hotnarko Falls and Nimpo Lake, funded in part by the BC Government’s Rural Dividend Fund.

“Providing accessible trails expands the market for Cariboo-Chilcotin tourism, delivers greater inclusivity, and can be a driver in attracting and retaining new residents to the region.”—Margo Wagner, CRD Chair

The three trails are part of a network of accessible trails across the region, designed to make outdoor recreation accessible to everyone, regardless of their mobility level. The trails are suitable for wheel chair and scooter use as well as walkers with mobility issues, child strollers, and able-bodied users such as hikers and runners.
