Kamloops Christian School prepares for students’ return

KAMLOOPS — As students return to the classroom next week, private schools will be following much of the same protocols as School District 73.

Kamloops Christian School Principal and CEO Sandro Cuzzetto says the school had to submit its restart plan to the Ministry of Education and will be following all of the guidelines of WorkSafeBC.

“In essence, it’s going to be what you would see in every school in B.C.,” Cuzzetto said, “You’d have the cleaning stations in classrooms, you’d have some barriers depending on if you could have those students social distance or not and you’d have your students back in the classroom, masks in common in areas (Grades) 6-12.”

Cuzzetto says it’s a busy time for teachers as they prepare their classrooms.

While the school has received some questions about safety, many families are choosing to send their kids back to the classroom.

“This year, we’re going to start in a very different way, but we’re excited,” Cuzzetto said. “It’s nice to have the families back, it’s nice to have the kids in our classrooms and the teachers are excited about what’s going to happen this year.”
