Merritt Keno player planning to add horsepower with $40,000 win

MERRITT — A Merritt man is $40,000 richer after a recent Keno draw.

BCLC says Joseph Major won $40,030 in a July 22 Keno and Keno Bonus draw.

Major had bought his winning ticket from the Coldwater Hotel Pub on Voght Street and later checked it at Walmart.

“I thought I had just won $20,000,” said Major. “It surprised both myself and the lady at Walmart when the $40,000 came up. I couldn’t believe it!”
