KAMLOOPS — RCMP say some discrepancies on a commercial semi’s log book led to a huge cash seizure outside of Kamloops last month.

According to a news release from B.C. RCMP Traffic Services spokesman Cpl. Mike Halskov, the incident began with a routine traffic stop just after midnight on July 26, on the Trans Canada Highway east of the city.

Halskov says the officer noted discrepancies in the log book, and that the driver could not produce a bill of lading nor open the trailer.

Suspecting that the driver was moving illegal items, the officer detained the driver. A police service dog was called in and indicated the odour of drugs.
