Sullivan returns as SD73 superintendent
KAMLOOPS – A recognizable name is returning to lead School District 73. Dr. Terry Sullivan will serve one-year as an interim superintendent.
Sullivan served as the district’s superintendent from 1999 to 2014. “Terry is well-known and respected across the district, our communities, and the province,” said Rhonda Kershaw, the Chair of the SD 73 Board of Education. “As our parents and staff get ready to re-start school, his steady and thoughtful leadership will be welcome.”
During his 15 years as superintendent, Sullivan oversaw the establishment of the schools of choice program, the NorKam Trades Centre, and the Day of Sucwentwecw, an inaugural day for honouring Aboriginal peoples. Since leaving the district, he’s taught in the Faculty of Education at Thompson Rivers University and consulted for the B.C. School Trustees Association and several other school districts.
Sullivan replaces Alison Sidow who is retiring at the end of the month.
