B.C. sees 68 new COVID-19 cases, active count approaches 800

VICTORIA — The province is reporting 68 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday (Aug. 19).

That includes four more in the Interior region.

According to a news release from the provincial health ministry, the total of 4,745 cases are spread through B.C. as follows:

  • 1,488 (Vancouver Coastal)
  • 2,493 (Fraser Health)
  • 158 (Island Health)
  • 411 (Interior Health)
  • 120 (Northern Health)
  • 75 (Reside outside of Canada)

There are now 798 active cases of the virus and 2,452 people who are under active public health monitoring as they have been exposed to known cases.

No new COVID-19 deaths have been recorded over the past 24 hours and there have been no new outbreaks.
