Public asked to avoid East Shuswap Road as police deal with distraught man in home

TK’EMLUPS — Kamloops Rural RCMP are on scene at a police incident unfolding along East Shuswap Road.

At about 9:00 this morning, officers were called to a home in the 700-block of East Shuswap for reports of a disturbance. Several people left the home safely.

In a news release, Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey now says officers are dealing with a distraught man in the home.

First responders are staged away from the home, and according to a firefighter who spoke to CFJC Today, one of the man’s threats has been that he will set the home on fire.
