KAMLOOPS — A new car wash facility in Kamloops has managed to raise over $25,000 for the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation. Express AutoSpa recently opened at 1500 Hugh Allen Drive, and management decided to start operations with an investment in community healthcare.

The new facility hosted a Grand Splash fundraising event between July 20 and 31. All $19 platinum car washes were by donation, with the effort eventually raising $25,394.65 for the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation.

“We are really happy to participate in the Kamloops community and give back to our frontline workers, especially with the current situation in the world with COVID-19,” says Ayaaz Jamal, Operations Director for Express AutoSpa, “As a company, we feel it is important to be socially responsible and not only be involved with our community but also give back to it.”

The cheque was presented to RIH Foundation employee Shanah Skjeie on Friday (Aug. 7). In a release, RIH Foundation CEO Heidi Coleman says the contribution is extremely appreciated.
