STREAMING GIANTS IN MULTI-MILLION BIDDING WAR FOR ARIANA GRANDE’S TOUR DOCUMENTARY: Streaming giants are reportedly clashing over the rights to a film about Ariana Grande’s Sweetener World Tour. The Sun reports that Netflix made a strong pitch to earn the exclusive streaming rights for the flick, offering a whopping $5.2 million dollars as their starting offer. YouTube also expressed interest in getting a hold of the documentary. Ariana’s manager Scooter Braun is among the team that is hammering out negotiations with a league of “big hitters.” The Sweetener tour entertained over 1.3 million people across the globe and ran for 97 days before wrapping on December 22, 2019. The documentary follows the singer both on stage and behind the scenes
SELENA GOMEZ ANNOUNCES LAUNCH DATE FOR RARE BEAUTY: Selena Gomez announced that her new beauty line Rare Beauty is officially launching September 3rd at Sephora and on RareBeauty.com. Selena previously announced that one percent of all sales from the makeup line will go to the Rare Impact Fund, which aims to raise $100 million over the next 10 years for mental health services. Selena revealed the creation of the cosmetics line, named after her latest album, Rare, back in February. She explained that Rare Beauty “isn’t about how others see you. It’s about how you see yourself.”
MARSHMELLO TEASES DEMI LOVATO COLLABORATION: Marshmello has seemingly teased a new collaboration is in the works featuring Demi Lovato. The DJ posted a snap of himself on the telephone and hinted that he’s either already recorded or has asked Lovato to feature on his new track. He simply captioned the post on Instagram, which he tagged the 27-year-old singer in, with: “hello? demi?” In what could be a clue about the themes of the track, the image shows Marshmello sitting in a dark room littered with liquor bottles and a knocked over lamp, with an obscured mystery woman lingering in the background. Back in 2017, a song by the pair called “Love Don’t Let Me Go” was registered to ASCAP, with Marshmello, Louis Bell, Brian Lee, Ali Tamposi, and Andrew Watt given songwriting credits, but it’s yet to be officially released.
