Over a dozen new wildfire starts after lightning storm in Kamloops Fire Centre

KAMLOOPS — After plenty of lightning in the region last night (July 31), there have been at least 14 new wildfire starts in the Kamloops Fire Centre.

Most of the starts have occurred over the last 24 hours with several suspected to be lightning caused, according to B.C Wildfire Service mapping.

Latest data shows none are over 1 hectare in size, and it’s not known whether any structures are threatened at this time.
