Updated: Highway 1 reopens near Tappen

TAPPEN, B.C — UPDATED: Drive B.C says the highway has reopened.

PREVIOUS: A section of Highway 1 near Tappen is closed in both directions this afternoon.

According to Drive B.C., a vehicle incident occurred just before Sunnybrae-Canoe Point Road. It has closed the highway in both directions while crews respond.

Drive B.C says crews are on scene but there is no estimated time of reopening and the next update will come at 5:30.

There is no word yet on any injuries, or how many vehicles are involved.
