Federal government investing $645K into local charities

KAMLOOPS — The United Way Thompson Nicola Cariboo will be distributing $645,000 from the Federal Emergency Community Support Fund to local non-profit organizations.

According to a release from the United Way, the funds will be delivered to charities supporting vulnerable populations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A regional COVID Community Impact Council was tasked with determining which organizations receive funding.

A total of 44 local charities will receive the funding.
