Planet Fitness Kamloops implementing mask requirement

KAMLOOPS — Planet Fitness will soon require all of its gym members to wear masks when they come in for a workout – including those in Kamloops.
In a release online, Planet Fitness, Inc. says all members and guests will need to wear a mask at all times while inside their centres, starting Wednesday (August 1).
The move follows increased cleaning protocols that were implemented when Planet Fitness reopened, alongside physical distancing adjustments with equipment placement, and occupancy levels.
“Gyms are part of the solution and a key element of the healthcare delivery system, providing much needed access for people to exercise and stay healthy,” states Chris Rondeau, Chief Executive Officer at Planet Fitness. “Given our leadership position within the industry, we believe it’s our responsibility to further protect our members, employees, and communities so that we can all safely focus on our health, which is more important now than ever before.”
