SICAMOUS, B.C. — RCMP in the Shuswap are asking for the public’s help identifying a trio of suspects in a series of criminal acts Thursday (July 23).

Officers responded at 8:21 p.m. Thursday to the report of a crash between an SUV and a semi-truck along the Trans Canada Highway east of Revelstoke.

After the crash, the driver of the SUV, a Ford Expedition, was immediately picked up by a black Ford F-350 that left the scene.

Investigators learned that both the Expedition and the pickup truck were stolen, the Expedition out of Foothills County, Alberta.

Mounties from Sicamous and Salmon Arm set up a roadblock east of Sicamous, with the help of CP Rail police.

Officers found the truck on a forest service road off Maclean Sawmill Road in Malakwa. As they approached the truck, the suspects reversed it directly at the officers.

Three suspects took off on foot into a wooded area, and despite an extensive search with the help of an RCMP service dog, Mounties were not able to track them down.

However, the suspects were captured on surveillance camera at a home in the area.
