Karpuk steps down as Kamloops-Thompson school board chair

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops-Thompson School District will elect a new chair at next week’s regular meeting.
According to a district news release, Chair Kathleen Karpuk will step down from the role Monday (July 27).
Karpuk was first elected as a trustee in 2008 and as board chair in November, 2018.
She says her decision to step aside came after accepting a full-time job with the B.C. Wildfire Service, meaning she will have less time to carry out duties required of the chair.
