Interior Health warns of fentanyl-laced drug on Kamloops streets

KAMLOOPS – Interior Health has issued an urgent warning to drug users in the Kamloops area. The drug has been found to contain dangerous levels of fentanyl and benzos.
The small orange bags are being sold as a methamphetamine with the street name of ‘Side’. It may also be sold as heroin with a street name of “Down.”
Interior Health says users are at a high risk of overdose and may not respond to Naloxone. If this drug has entered a person’s system, they should seek immediate medical attention.
The warning was issued Friday (July 24) and remains in effect for a week.
