KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has enacted a severe thunderstorm watch for a large portion of the southern Interior Friday morning (July 24).
Areas covered by the watch include the North Thompson, Shuswap and Okanagan Valley.
Environment Canada says conditions are right for storms that may bring strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. The watch also warns of the possibility of intense lightning.
The forecaster notes the sky in the area will clear around midnight, giving way to several days of sunshine and very warm temperatures.
