WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. – Some of the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) offices will be re-opening to the public next week after safety measures were placed to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.

The Williams Lake and 100 Mile House offices will reopen to the public on Tuesday, July 28 while the Quesnel office will open later in the week, once the required changes are made to the reception area are complete.

A release from the CRD asks the public to only request in-person appointments with CRD planners and building inspectors when absolutely necessary. Customers who do request an in-person visit will be required to fill out a health questionnaire regarding their possible exposure to COVID-19 and provide their contact information prior to the meeting.

β€œThe CRD reserves the right to reschedule a meeting or appointment at any time if there is perceived to be a risk of COVID-19 exposure to staff or the public,” says the release.

In-person meetings will be conducted in a designated space and both, CRD staff and members of the public will be required to wear a mask and use gloves or hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the designated space.

Occupancy limits will also be in effect with two people allowed at the front counter and one person in the outside waiting area at the Williams Lake reception. At 100 Mile House and Quesnel, one person will be let in at a time. Markers have been placed at reception areas to promote social distancing and cleaning measures are being taken to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.
