Thirty new cases of COVID-19 in B.C. Thursday; increases in both Interior and Northern Health

VICTORIA — Provincial health officials have announced 30 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday (July 23), including significant increases in the Interior and Northern Health regions.

Eleven of the new cases reside in Interior Health and eight reside in Northern Health.

One of the 30 new cases is an individual who has been epidemiologically linked to other COVID-19 cases.

The total of all COVID-19 cases in B.C. since the pandemic began is now 3,392, spread through B.C. as follows:

  • 1,051 (Vancouver Coastal)
  • 1,750 (Fraser Health)
  • 142 (Island Health)
  • 315 (Interior Health)
  • 77 (Northern Health)
  • 57 (Reside outside of Canada)

There are now 304 active cases in B.C., including 16 patients who are in hospital and three who are in intensive or critical care.

One person has died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 190.

The number of people considered fully recovered from the virus is now 2,898, or 85 per cent of the total.
