Beyonc’s Black Is King trailer is out now.

Parkwood Entertainment and Disney+ released the new trailer and poster for the visual, which will premiere globally on July 31st on Disney+.

The new film is based on the music of The Lion King: The Gift, debuting two weeks after the one-year anniversary of the theatrical release of Disney’s The Lion King. The film “reimagines the lessons from the 2019 blockbuster for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.”

Black Is King was filmed across continents, starting in New York, then Los Angeles, South Africa, West Africa, London and Belgium.

Special guests include models Aweng Ade-Chuol and Adut Akech, supermodel Naomi Campbell, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Rowland, Pharrell Williams and Jay-Z, among others.

The teaser dropped and features Beyonc herself narrating it for her upcoming visual album. “You were formed by the heat of the galaxy. What a thing to be, both unique and familiar, to be one and the same – and still unlike any other,” she says as a young boy floats in space before a bright flash reveals the superstar carrying a baby boy.
