Invasive plants field day set for July 30 in Barriere

BARRIERE, B.C. β€” The Thompson-Nicola Invasive Plant Management Committee (TNIPMC) is inviting Kamloops-area land owners to talk about invasive plant management.

The committee will host an invasive plant field day July 30 in Barriere, at the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo grounds.

Among the discussed plants will be hoary alyssum. According to the Invasive Species Council of B.C., hoary alyssum is common in southern B.C. and β€œis most common on sandy or gravelly soils and establishes on roadsides, railway embankments, and heavily grazed pastures.”
